Tour Itinerary

Day 1: TANGER – CHEFCHAOUEN

Merzouga Adventures organized Morocco Private tour with experienced drivers and guides. We start a private Morocco tour from Tangier and we drive towards the Rif mountains, passing Tetoun city to enjoy the beautiful mountains. Chefchaouan is one of the stunning villages in the Rif mountains. Its medina has a Spanish-style square and it is surrounded by funky arts and crafts stores. There are many rooftop restaurants and cafes in the city. We will spend this night in a local riad/hotel.

Day 2: CHEFCHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS -MEKNES – FES

After breakfast, we head towards Volubilis crossing Wazan and other small Rif villages. We will visit Volubilis and explore the Roman ruins in the area. Then we drive to Meknes to explore this important city for Moroccan history and culture. The Meknes tour includes medina, Bab el Mansour and Moulay Ismail’s shrine. Then we drive to Fes where you will spend this night in a local riad/hotel.

Day 3: Exploring Fes

Today our private Tangier tour continues visiting the medina (the old city). We walk inside its alleys and we visit the Jewish Quarter and the Royal Palace. We will visit the famous tanneries in Fez, worth experiencing. Then we visit the Quaraouine mosque which is considered the first university in the world. We will stay for dinner and overnight in local riad/hotel.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Our private Morocco tour from Fez starts driving towards Midelt and we stop at Ifrane, the city called “the Switzerland of Morocco”. We may stop at the cedar forest to see Barbarian apes and then we will continue to the city of Midelt, famous for its minerals and apples. We pass Ziz Valley, and we drive through few Berber villages to reach Erfoud, the capital of fossils, where we may visit local shops and factories. We continue to Merzouga where we stay in a desert riad/hotel for this night.

Day 5: Merzouga desert camel trek and overnight in Merzouga camp

Today we explore the Merzouga desert by 4×4 vehicle. We will visit Khamlia village where we meet local Gnawa people and we will learn about their traditional music. We continue our private Morocco tour from Fez visiting Nomad families living in the desert, then we drive to Rissani – a fortified village. Here we explore traditional souk where locals sell spices, vegetables, and clothes. After that, we drive back to the Merzouga. In the afternoon we will ride camels to the desert, guided by an experienced camel guide. We explore the highest sand dunes in Morocco and we reach desert camp where we will enjoy dinner at a campfire with Berber music and we stay overnight in desert camp. We will also walk to a high dune to watch the sunset over the dunes in the Merzouga desert.

Day 6: Merzouga desert – Rissani – Todra gorges – Dades gorges

Today in the morning we will watch the sunrise in the desert of Merzouga and then we ride camels back to the village. After breakfast, we leave for Rissani, Tinghir, and then we explore Todra gorges. It is the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco where we may hike within the amazing valley. After lunch here we will continue our private Morocco tour towards the Dades valley where we stay in Dades gorges in the local riad/hotel with dinner and breakfast.

Day 7: Dades gorges – Rose valley- Skoura – Ouarzazate

Our private Morocco tour continues towards Kalaa M’gouna, called “the rose city”, where we may purchase the rosewater. We continue to Skoura to visit the Kasbah Ameridil. After lunch in a traditional restaurant, we head to Ouarzazate, called “the Hollywood of Africa”. Here we may visit a local movie studio and also the kasbah in the city center. We stay overnight in a local riad/hotel with dinner and breakfast.

Day 8: Ouarzazatte – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll drive towards Ait Benhaddou visiting the local Kasbah. It is the largest Kasbah in Morocco and also a UNESCO world heritage site. Our private Morocco tour continues through the Tizi n’Tichka pass over the High Atlas mountains to reach Marrakech later afternoon and our tour finishes here

Day 9: Exploring Marrakech

After breakfast, you are about to visit the most famous and interesting places of the red city of Marrakesh, The Bahia Palace, The Majorelle Gardens, The Saadia Tombs, the Koutoubia Tower, and after having lunch in a restaurant, we will continue to walk through the Souks, to see many handicrafts, and then have a free time if you like to see more places of the city. We will spend a night and have dinner in a riad.

Day 10: Marrakech – Essaouira

We will drive toward the old Portuguese city of Essaouira after taking breakfast, by visiting an Argan factory, to see how the process of making Argan Oil, then visiting Essaouira coastal port, to have lunch and enjoy the fresh seafood in the medina. We will spend a night and have dinner in a riad, feel free to enjoy yourself and have a rest, or swim on the beach.

Day 11: Essaouira – Safi – Oualidia – El Jadida – Casablanca

After taking breakfast, we will drive toward Casablanca, the Commercial capital of Morocco, exploring the stunning views of the road, passing by Safi, Oualidia to enjoy delicious seafood for lunch, then to the old medina of El Jadida, which was founded by the Portuguese in 1513, and which was known as Mazagan, until Casablanca, where we will stay the night

Day 12: Casablanca – Rabat

After breakfast we head towards Rabat we will meet you and drive to Casablanca, and then to Rabat. In Casablanca, you will see the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Africa. Continuing to Rabat – the capital of Morocco – you will see the Hassan Tower and walk the Oudaya Kasbah before you check in to your overnight accommodation in a Hotel/Riad.

Day 13: Rabat – Asilah – Tangier

After breakfast in your riad, we will drive to Tanger via the Rif mountains, Most of the drive will be by the coast. Our first stop will be in Asilah, where you will have the opportunity to explore the city. Asilah is known for its annual festival of art, most of the walls of the Medina are painted by various famous artists all over the world. the gateway to Africa from Europe, Then we continue to Tangier where our private Morocco tour ends
