Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Fes – Midlet – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga desert
Our private Morocco tour from Fez starts travelling south via Midelt and our first stop will be Ifrane, named “the Switzerland of Morocco”. We stop at the cedar forest to see Barbarian apes. We will continue to Midelt, passing Ziz Valley, and driving through few Berber villages. We will visit Erfoud, the capital of fossils, then Rissani. After we arrive in Merzouga where we stay in a desert riad/hotel for this night.
Day 2: Merzouga desert camel trek and overnight in Merzouga camp
After breakfast, we will explore the desert area by 4×4 vehicle. We will visit Khamlia village where we meet local Gnawa people and we will learn about their famous music. Then we continue our private Morocco tour by visiting Nomad families living in the desert. We will visit also the city of Rissani – a fortified village. Here we explore a traditional souk where locals selling spices, vegetables and clothes. Then we drive back to the Merzouga and in the afternoon, we will ride camels to the desert. We will be guided by an experienced camel guide to exploring the highest sand dunes in Morocco. After we reach desert camp we will enjoy dinner at a campfire with Berber music and we stay overnight in desert camp. We may walk to the high dune to watch the sunset over the dunes.
Day 3: Desert Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Middle Atlas – Forest Cedars – Ifran – Fez
Early in the morning to a spectacular sunrise over the dunes, back to the hotel for breakfast and shower. Then you go to Fez through the valley of Ziz, Errachidia, Midelt, with an ever-changing landscape. During the journey, we make a stop for lunch in the city of Midelt. Crossing the cedar forests of Azrou and arrival in order Fes. the fulfil our services.
