Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Fez – Midelt – Erfoud – Rissani - Merzouga Desert
Today our private Morocco tour from Fez starts towards the Middle Atlas mountains. We will visit the town of Ifrane which is called as Switzerland of Morocco. We will drive towards the cedar forests in Azrou and here we may watch local monkeys. Then we drive to Midelt, which is famous for its mineral products. We will pass a few villages and cities to reach the fascinating Ziz valley. We will drive to Erfoud, which is famous for its fossils. After that, we drive towards Rissani and Merzouga Sahara desert where we ride camels to reach desert camp. We will experience Berber music in the desert and we stay overnight in a desert camp. We may watch the sunset in the dunes in the Merzouga desert.
Day 2: Merzouga desert – Rissani -Todra Gorge – Dades Gorges
In the morning our private Morocco tour continues and we ride camels back to Merzouga village. We may watch the sunrise over the dunes. From Merzouga, we head towards Tinghir and Todra gorges, which is the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco. We may hike along it’s valley to enjoy the perfect view of this area. After that we drive through the Dades Valley. We pass the rock formations known as monkey toes. We spend overnight in a local riad/hotel in the heart of the gorge.
Day 3: Dades Gorges – Skoura -Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, our private Morocco tour from Fez continues towards Kalaat Mgouna passing the route of thousand Kasbahs. Kalaat Mgouna, is called as “the rose city”, we may purchase the rosewater as local famous product. Then we continue our trip to Ouarzazate, called “the Hollywood of Africa”. We may visit local movie studio and kasbah. After that we drive to the Ait Ben Haddou to visit the local kasbah, the largest in Morocco and recognized as UNESCO world heritage. It has been used as a backdrop for famous movies as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. We continue through the Tizi ‘n’ thick mountain pass over the High Atlas Mountains. Then we reach Marrakech, where our private Morocco tour from Fez ends.
