Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades gorges
Today we start our private Marrakech trip driving through the Tizi ‘n’ Tichka mountain pass at 2260 m. We pass the High Atlas mountains to reach Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is the largest Kasbah in Morocco. It is a UNESCO World historical site. After lunch here we visit Ouarzazate, called the Hollywood of Africa where we may visit a local studios. Then we drive along the road of the 1000’s Kasbahs to reach the village of Kalaat Mgouna, famous for its rose products. Then we head to Dades valley and we spend this night in the heart of the Dades gorge in local riad with dinner and breakfast.
Day 2: Dades gorges – Todra gorges – Merzouga desert camel trek
Today our private Marrakech tour continues exploring Dades gorges. Here we will enjoy the amazing rock formation called “The monkey toes”. After that, we drive towards Todra valley, where we may walk under the 300 m high red cliff. Afterward, we drive to Erfoud, which is famous for its fossil products. Then we drive to Rissani, and Merzouga from where we will ride camels to the desert. We will explore the highest sand dunes in Morocco and after we reach desert camp we will enjoy dinner at a campfire with Berber music and we stay overnight in desert camp. We will climb high dunes to watch the sunset over the dunes.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Agdez – Marrakech
Your camel guide will wake you up to see the sunrise, then you’ll peacefully camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga appreciating the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. Arriving back in Merzouga and after breakfast and a hot shower in the guesthouse, we’ll leave for Ouarzazate passing by the famous Draa valley-full of palm-trees-stop for lunch in the way and continue to Marrakech over the Tizi ‘n’ Tichka pass again and end of the tour.
