Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech –Ait Ben Haddou – Dades gorges
Today we start our private Marrakech trip driving through the Tizi ‘n’ Tichka mountain pass at 2260 m. We reach Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is the largest Kasbah in Morocco, a UNESCO World historical site. Then we visit Ouarzazate, called the Hollywood of Africa where we may visit local studios. Then we drive along the road of the 1000’s Kasbahs to reach the village of Kalaat Mgouna, famous for its rose products. Then we head to Dades valley and we spend this night in the heart of the Dades gorge in local riad with dinner and breakfast.
Day 2: Dades gorges – Todra gorges – Merzouga desert
Our private Marrakech tour continues exploring Dades gorges where we will enjoy the amazing rock formation called “The monkey Toes”. Then we drive towards Todra valley, where we may walk under the 300 m high red cliff. We will head to Erfoud, which is famous for its fossil products and dates. We drive to Rissani to visit the local traditional souk, and then we drive directly to the village of Merzouga where we stay overnight in a desert hotel for this night.
Day 3: camel trek and overnight in Merzouga camp
Today we will explore the desert area by 4×4 vehicle. We will visit Khamlia village where we meet local Gnawa people and we will learn about their famous music. Then we continue our private Marrakech tour by visiting Nomad families living in the desert. We will visit also the city of Rissani – a fortified village. Then we drive back to the Merzouga and in the afternoon, we will ride camels to the desert. We will be guided by an experienced camel guide to exploring the highest sand dunes in Morocco. After we reach desert camp we will enjoy dinner at a campfire with Berber music and we stay overnight in desert camp. We will climb high dunes to watch the sunset over the dunes.
Day 4: Merzouga desert – Agdez – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
On the last day of our private Marrakech tour, we wake up early to watch the sunrise in the Merzouga desert. Then we ride camels back to Merzouga village and from here we return back to Marrakech passing Rissani, Agdez, then Ouarzazate. We cross Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2260m over the High Atlas mountains. Then we arrive in Marrakech where our private Marrakech tour ends.
