Tour Itinerary
Day 1: TANGER – CHEFCHAOUEN
Merzouga Adventures organized Morocco Private tour with experienced drivers and guides. We start a private Morocco tour from Tangier and we drive towards the Rif mountains, passing Tetoun city to enjoy the beautiful mountains. Chefchaouan is one of the stunning villages in the Rif mountains. Its medina has a Spanish-style square and it is surrounded by funky arts and crafts stores. There are many rooftop restaurants and cafes in the city. We will spend this night in a local riad/hotel.
Day 2: CHEFCHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS -MEKNES – FES
After breakfast, we head towards Volubilis crossing Wazan and other small Rif villages. We will visit Volubilis and explore the Roman ruins in the area. Then we drive to Meknes to explore this important city for Moroccan history and culture. The Meknes tour includes medina, Bab el Mansour and Moulay Ismail’s shrine. Then we drive to Fes where you will spend this night in a local riad/hotel.
Day 3: FES GUIDED TOUR
Today our private Tangier tour continues visiting the medina (the old city). We walk inside its alleys and we visit the Jewish Quarter and the Royal Palace. We will visit the famous tanneries in Fez, worth experiencing. Then we visit the Quaraouine mosque which is considered the first university in the world. We will stay for dinner and overnight in a local riad/hotel.
Day 4: FES – IFRANE – MIDELT – ZIZ VALLEY – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA CAMLE RIDE AND 1 NIGHT IN A DESERT CAMP
Today we travel towards Ifrane, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco”. We may stop at Azrou, a Berber village in the cedar forest. We will have lunch in Midelt and afterward, we’ll drive along the Ziz valley. We’ll pass through few Berber villages to reach Erfoud and then Rissani. Then we arrive at Merzouga desert from where we will ride camels to the desert. We will be guided by an experienced camel guide to exploring the highest sand dunes in Morocco. We may walk to the high dune to watch the sunset over the dunes. After we reach desert camp we will enjoy dinner at the campfire with Berber music and we stay overnight in desert camp.
Day 5: MERZOUGA TODRA GORGES -DADES GORGES
Early in the morning, we will watch the sunrise in the desert of Merzouga and then we ride camels back to the village of Merzouga and after breakfast we leave for Rissani. We drive towards Tinghir, and then we explore Todra gorges which is the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. Here we may hike within the amazing valley and after lunch, we will continue our private Morocco tour passing the Dades valley. Here we stay in Dades gorges in a traditional local riad/hotel with dinner and breakfast.
Day 6: DADES VALLEY – ROSES VALLEY -OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU -MARRAKECH
Today we continue our private Tanger tour through the Dades valley towards Ouarzazate passing the route of the 1000’s Kasbahs. We will stop at Kalaat Mgouna which is the center of Rose's valley. Here we may purchase the rosewater, which is a local famous product made from roses. We will visit the Ouarzazate movie studio, and also the local kasbah in the city. We continue to the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, built by one of the last Berber chieftains. Our trip continues passing Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass at 2260 m. Then we arrive in Marrakech and we stay overnight in the local riad.
Day 7: MARRAKECH
We continue our private Tanger ur exploring Marrakech ” the red city of Morocco”. We will visit the most important historical and cultural monuments and places. The guided tour of Marrakech includes the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia Palace, and the famous Jamma el Fna square. After lunch we will walk through the souks and in the afternoon we will have a free program to explore other parts of the city including Gueliz – the new part.
Day 8: MARRAKECH TO AIRPORT
Today our private Morocco tour finishes and we transfer you to the airport.
